Driving While Black

Experiential Awareness Campaign

In America the most common police interaction happens during routine traffic stops. However for Black People in America a traffic stop is anything but routine. Introducing the worlds first DWB. A car designed to save Black drivers.

Awarded at Cannes, Clio, British Design & Art Direction, Art Directors Club, One Club, Museum of Modern Art, and more.

In partnership with Courageous Conversations DWB became more than a satirical car, it became a vehicle to protest racial inequality across media.

From traditional to guerilla activations, DWB took over the streets of Detroit and the biggest Autoshow in North America.

16 digital kiosks spread across high traffic areas around the auto show and a large billboard on the block of Ford Field during a Lions game. All media space donated by Downtown Detroit.

To launch the car we revealed DWB in the streets of Detroit through AR in a full digital walk-around, allowing users to explore the vehicle features and the stories behind them.
