CM AIR
Non-Profit Platform Design
Brands and businesses everywhere consistently seek out Artists to collaborate and elevate their image, products, and vision. Unfortunately this collaboration is often taken advantage of at the expense of Artist rights.
To understand and empower how can agencies and brands can collaborate more effectively from a place of empathy with artists, Critical Mass partnered with Activist and Artist Shantell Martin to create the CM AIR (Artist in Residence) Program.
I was fortunate enough to collaborate with Shantell directly, and lead a small team to develop the programs visual identity, launch campaign, and activation assets.
After launching, we hosted a conversation between Shantell, Val Carlson (Critical Mass CCO) and industry leaders; Ari Kuschnir, Heidi Berg, and Michael Ventura, about how to collaborate with empathy and equity.
For SXSW 2021, Critical Mass and Shantell join in a panel discussion around Artist Collabs: Putting an End to Exploitation.
For the panel, Shantell and I collaborated on ‘a reflective guide for artists with brands’ - an 18”x28” collaborative piece of original artwork and reflective map that we gave away prints of.
